I am a self taught painter creating cutting edge abstract art. I work exclusively with oils on canvas. I live in Antioch, IL where my art studio and wood shop can be found. My paintings are in the process of being collected and hung in homes throughout the United States and Mexico.

My art captures abstract interpretations of figures and faces through extroverted personalities and pure energy. They conjure up arousing expressions and intriguing forms that come to life through heavily juxtaposed layers of oil. The paintings are engaging and inviting. Each sets me on course for a whimsical journey of familiar discovery
My art captures abstract interpretations of figures and faces through extroverted personalities and pure energy. They conjure up arousing expressions and intriguing forms that come to life through heavily juxtaposed layers of oil. The paintings are engaging and inviting. Each sets me on course for a whimsical journey of familiar discovery. I find it next to impossible to set course with destination in mind. Strangely enough, I am a deck hand, not the captain. A vessel? Feels that way, but from where and for whom?

My process incorporates palette and taping knives, screwdrivers, homemade metal applicators, razor blades, chip brushes and my bare hands to achieve an almost 3 dimensional ensemble of heavily layered color. All paintings come complete with black wood frames that I hand craft and assemble personally in my art studio/wood shop. This bold framing consummates both the art and the viewing experience and provides for pleasure that’s ready to hang. My paintings range in size from 18" x 24" to 30" x 40". All my paintings come with a certificate of authenticity.
